Our Team

Uma Singh

Uma's journey began from the rural heartland of India, but life led her to live at IIT Kanpur where her husband was then studying, then at Faridabad (Haryana), Ranchi (Jharkhand), ...Chandrapur (Maharashtra), Bhadravati (Karnataka) and finally back to the heartland - Sitapur (UP), where she is now settled. While she was a dedicated homemaker, and raised three children of her own, she never stopped evolving herself. She is a voracious reader and ardently works towards minimizing her carbon footprint and advocating about the need to do so in her networks. With a progressive and cosmopolitan view, Uma is an altruist at heart. After settling down in Sitapur, she re-connected with her rural roots and foresaw the need for an organization that would work in the much neglected rural areas and encouraged her daughter to establish the Blue Parijaat Foundation.

Manvi Singh

Uma's daughter - Manvi is a software engineer by qualification, a social worker and philanthropist at heart. Manvi's tryst with the sector began during her childhood when she would accompany ... her father to the aadivasi villages around Ranchi where his organization undertook welfare work. She is an alumnus of the prestigious DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir school of Ranchi, and a gold medalist of Nagpur University where she did her BE in Computer Technology. Manvi spent 14 years in the IT sector with L&T Infotech and Capgemini interspersed with overseas stints, before taking a hiatus to the Development sector. She led the Mumbai branch of an education-based NGO for 6 years and later associated with various for-profits and non-profits as an organizational growth and strategy consultant. She also dons the hats of leadership coach and personal counsellor from time to time. Manvi is an egalitarian and a humanist, she firmly believes more goodness in this world can make it a better place, and with this aim in mind has set up Blue Parijaat Foundation.
